The idea
@media (min-width: 600px) applies its rules only when the viewport is at least 600px wide. This is the mobile-first pattern: write the small-screen styles first, then add a min-width query to enhance larger screens.
Validated at 420px and 700px, so a hardcoded width passes one and fails the other — you need a real @media rule.
