The idea
direction still matters in a vertical writing mode, but it now controls the *inline* axis, which runs top-to-bottom. ltr flows downward; rtl flips it so text flows *upward* from the bottom edge.
This level needs direction. text-align, margin, padding, position and float are off-limits: they would move the text without teaching you the property that flips the vertical flow.
